Categories and Votes of Membership
There shall be the following categories of membership with power to vote at all meetings of the club and with the rights and privileges of each category of members are as defined hereunder. All membership is subject to annual review by the General Committee, not more than one month before the A.G.M. Recommendations to be forwarded in confidence to the "in-coming" Committee.
All applicants for membership are subject to a probationary period of at least twelve months and shall not be entitled to vote, or be elected for that period.
A FULL MEMBER-being a person who, at the date of election, is over the age of eighteen shall have one vote.
A FAMILY MEMBER-which expression shall include two persons, male and female who are cohabiting, and all their children under twelve years of age. The family unit shall have one vote per adult member.
A JUNIOR CADET-being a person who, at the date of election, is under the age of sixteen, shall have no vote.
A SENIOR CADET-being a person who, at the date of election, is aged sixteen to eighteen, shall have no vote.
A STUDENT MEMBER-being a person who is eighteen years or over and is in full time education, shall have one vote.(Mar. 82)
A SENIOR CITIZEN MEMBER-being a person who has reached the official government retirement age, shall have one vote.(Mar. 82)
AN HONORARY MEMBER-who shall be nominated and elected in the manner described in Rule 41 shall have no vote.
AN ASSOCIATE MEMBER-who shall have no vote and shall not be required to pay an entry fee. They shall not be entitled to vote at A.G.M. or any other meeting of the club. They shall not be eligible for election to any position as a Club Officer or to the General Committee. They may in any year apply for Full Membership, any fees already paid shall be deducted from the total dues required. They shall not be entitled to keep in the compound, launch or recover from the jetty a boat of any kind, although they may be permitted to be a passenger on a member's boat not more than three times per year.
Subject to the above rules Associate Members shall be entitled to the full amenities of the Club.

A COUNTRY MEMBER-shall be elected at the discretion of the Committee and shall have no vote.
A TEMPORARY MEMBER-who shall have no vote. A member may apply for a Temporary Membership for a guest. This membership shall be for not more than 14 days to run consecutively. The fee payable by the member on application will be one pound, this will be the minimum fee payable. Temporary Members will have the same rights as Associate Members.
